WWW Wednesday 6/1/2021

Back to work, back into lockdown and back to escaping into good books. Its the first Wednesday of a New Year and instead of bemoaning lockdown again I am going forge ahead and settle into my reading for the year, tackling my backlist and getting stuck into some anticipated reads.

Happy Wednesday!

Its that time of the Week again! WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme that was revived by Taking on a World of Words. I like it cause it is fairly simple but allows me to check in with my reading but also with you!

WWW Wednesday asks just three questions:

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

WHAT BOOK HAVE YOU RECENTLY FINISHED?

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WILL READ NEXT?

An Argumentation of Historians
Jodi Taylor

Chronicles of St Mary’s #9

I love these books! I love them more and more with each book I read. I honestly might just need to mark out a week or two this year where I just sit and do a full re-read of them all as I just want to keep visiting this world and I have nearly caught up with the series now and that makes me sad. I still have to write up my review for book 8 but this one has on the edge of my seat at every turn. I fly through these books and even though I only started it on Monday I am nearly finished it as I just have to know how it turns out. I swear Taylor is going to bring it all crashing down on me, I don’t trust her not too!

Men at Arms
Terry Pratchett

Discworld #15 City Watch #2

In typical me style I finish a book that wasn’t even on my TBR for this month. In fact this was one of the books that I didn’t manage to unwrap in my 12 books of Christmas TBR (which I utterly failed at and read 3 of the 12 with 17 other books not on that TBR). But it came up on audio at my library and I just had to start it and in true Pratchett fashion devoured it within a day and a half. I have so many quotes highlighted from this one that had me on the floor laughing. I think this might be a new favourite in the Discworld.

Clockwork Princess
Cassandra Clare

The Infernal devices #3

I really really need to pick this up ASAP. While Ellie and I haven’t set a date for the return of Shadowhunter Saturdays, we might be adding another member who is currently catching up, but I do need to actually read this one myself, before I forget what happened in books 1 and 2. So once I have finished St Mary’s I will dive straight into this!

So that is my WWW post for this week. I will see you next Wednesday to update you. What are you reading this week? Have you finished anything lately you loved?

I would love to chat all things bookish with you! You can comment down below or find me on Twitter or Goodreads!

Happy Reading!
