I took a little blogging break for the Holiday weekend and now I am back. Unfortunately I seem to be in a little bit of a reading slump, I am back on my medication which tends to knock me out so not very much reading has been happening this past week but hopefully as I get used to the pills effects I will get back to reading.
Its that time of the Week again! WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme that was revived by Taking on a World of Words. I like it cause it is fairly simple but allows me to check in with my reading but also with you!
WWW Wednesday asks just three questions:
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
WHAT BOOK HAVE YOU RECENTLY FINISHED?
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WILL READ NEXT?
Alex Verus #1
I have been meaning to pick up this book for a while. Magical London is a trope I just adore and this was sold as a mix of Rivers of London meets the Dresden Files. Unfortunately, it sways more towards the Dresden Files, which I didn’t enjoy, it even has a nod to Harry Dresden in chapter 1. I don’t know if I am liking this book or not. I don’t really find the MC Alex very appealing, but the magic system and side characters are really interesting. I think I withhold judgement till I have finished it.
Hercule Poirot #3
Usually an easy slump breaker is an Agatha Christie book. This is a short story collection so it made it easier to dip in and out when I needed too. This has a good range of stories with all the Poirot sass you have come to expect and love. I will have a full review up shortly.
All the Murmuring bones

As I am back on my medication and that makes it incredibly difficult to read as they make me extremely drowsy I was looking for an audiobook I could dive into. It is also ARCApril and I have yet to read an ARC. I have had this in my Netgally backlog (though the audiobook is released tomorrow) and decided to give it a go to see if it can get me back to reading while I am getting over the side effects.
So that is my WWW post for this week. I will see you next Wednesday to update you. What are you reading this week? Have you finished anything lately you loved?
