Down the TBR Hole #4

Not in its usual Sunday slot, but it is time for another round of cleaning up my Goodreads To Read shelf. If you want to know the full story behind why I decided to do this please check out my first round

Down the TBR Hole #1

HOW IT WORKS

GO TO YOUR GOODREADS TO-READ SHELF.
ORDER ON ASCENDING DATE ADDED.
TAKE THE FIRST 5 (OR 10 OR 15 OR 20, IF YOU’RE FEELING ADVENTUROUS) BOOKS.
READ THE SYNOPSES OF THE BOOKS.
DECIDE: KEEP IT OR SHOULD IT GO?
KEEP TRACK OF WHERE YOU LEFT OFF SO YOU CAN PICK UP THERE LATER

In my last journey down the TBR hole I managed to remove 5 books, with an extra one removing because I have actually read it! leaving me with

318

books on my To Read List. I left last week removing a book by one of my favourite authors that i just couldn’t get into, Dirk Gently’s holistic Detective agency. by Douglas Adams

The Lies of Locke Lamora
Scott Lynch

This has been recommended by my Sister and even my Mum who is not a fantasy fan has read and enjoyed this one so this is one of those ones that I really should have gotten to before now. especially as my sister has gifted me a copy years ago.

Keep

Splintered
A. G. Howard

I am a big Alice in Wanderland Fan and I do enjoy retellings which is why this was probably on the list in the first place but I have found myself drawn to more complex epic fantasy at the moment so i think I will remove this for now.

Remove

The Rook
Daniel O’Malley

This has been sitting on my Kindle unread for a long time. I think I need to do a Kindle clear out at some point where I just read all the books I 99p impulse bought. I am still intregued by this one so it stays

Keep

Menagerie
Rachel Vincent

I think I came across this in my local library but had too much to read at the time to check it out. I honestly am not that enamoured by the blurb so its a remove

Remove

The weight of feathers
Anna-Marie McLemore

This was popular on Booktube as having real Night circus vibes, at some point but if I am being honest very little will beat the Night circus for me. I don’t have much interest in romance heavy stories so its a remove

Remove

Magonia
Maria Dahvana Headley

Another booktube add that I really am not that interested in anymore. My tastes have grown and changed and I know more of what I want to read.

Remove

Hunted
Megan Spooner

This is a booktube add I am keeping, mainly because it is still being talked about. It keeps cropping up and i keep thinking oh i should read that. So it stays for just now.

Keep

Wire and Nerves
Marissa Meyer

This is a keep. Not only do I own this (and haven’t read it oops) but I love the Lunar chronicles. I am thinking or re-reading some of my favourite series later on this year so maybe i will get to this with the Lunar chronicles.

Keep

King’s Cage
Victoria Aveyard

I removed Glass sword in the previous round so this one is also on the remove list. I just don’t think this series is for me anymore. I might get to Red Queen one day and change my mind for just now its a remove.

Remove

Norse Mythology
Neil Gaiman

I own a physical copy of this and I really do need to get to it. Therefore, this one will stay on the keep list. I think I may try to see if my library has this available on audio as it is read by Gaiman himself.

Keep

Another 5 books removed from my TBR. I do think it is going to get a bit harder to decide wither things stay on the list or not. we are starting to find books that are on my physical shelves that I have yet to read and they will automatically be on the Keep list until I find time to give them a try.

So that brings my total to

313 Books

We are slowly getting through them!

I would love to chat all things bookish with you! You can comment down below or find me on Twitter or Goodreads!

Happy Reading!
