Book of the Month
Amari and the Night Brothers
Amari and the Night Brothers Book #1
ARC/ The Write Reads Ultimate Blog Tour
Release date 21/1/2021
My Review can be found Here
This was such a magically awesome read, I honestly can see this being a big hit for all ages. Its one of those worlds with so much possibility that I can totally see everyone who reads it deciding on what department they would choose etc. Amari was a wonderful main character and the plot had lots of twists and turns. It really should be on your pre-order list as I think it will really bring a ray of sunshine in January.
Other Close Contenders for Book of the month
Karen M. McManus
ARC / The Write Reads Ultimate Blog Tour
My Full Review can be found Here
This was such a good YA Mystery with a whole bunch of twists I just didn’t see coming. I really enjoy McManus’ writing for this reason. She has a great way of building up the suspense leasing you down red herrings and springing unexpected twists on you.
And the Rest is History
The Chronicle of St Mary’s #8
Oh this book damn near broke me! So much happened all of it nearly always devastating in one way or another. It is probably one of the best in the series and this series has never failed to entertain. I will have my review up shortly.
WHAT I READ –
T. A Hernandez
This is one of those books that the cover really doesn’t do it justice. It was really surprising much darker than I expected and I really enjoyed it. A really interesting take on a circus themes fantasy. I will be taking part in the blog tours for the finalists when I will post my full review.
David H Reiss
This was a really unusual take on the superhero/super villian story. It was extremely well written but i did find it lulled a little in the middle. I will be taking part in the blog tours for the finalists when I will post my full review.
The Gilded King
I have to admit I am a bit of a Josie Jaffery fan after reading a few of her books last year. I really enjoyed this one it was nice diving more into her world of Vampires but I will admit I prefer May Day slightly more. I will be taking part in the blog tours for the finalists when I will post my full review.

Ordeal of the Haunted Room
Chronicles of St Mary’s #11.5
These are a number of different short stories that Jodi Taylor has released as part of the Chronicles of St Mary’s series. Including this years Christmas Day release (Ordeal of the Haunted Room). I will always love returning to the world of St Mary’s no matter what the length of the story. They are always jam packed with adventure, giggles and little bits of extra information.
Short Story collection
I have a mini review of it here.
This is a repackaging of various of Christies more wintery short stories and while I had previous read the Ms Marple and Hercule Poirot stories it contained lots of stories I had not encountered before which made it such an interesting read.
Discworld #20 , Death #4

Summed up in my Festive Favourites I said that Hogfather is one of my favourite reads as it perfectly captures, at least the British, Festive season in all its glory. It was the first Discworld book I ever read and its one filled with humour and joy.

Welcome to Nightvale #1

This was so surreal and out there and just right up my street. It had me giggling at every page and thoughtfully pondering at the end of every chapter. I might have to dive into the Podcast as I am very intrigued. I will definitely be continuing with the books at least.

Middle Grad Marvels December Pick
This was such a good pick for the season, dark and tricksy Fae Magic, mixed with a snowy land, A strong, independent yet loving protagonist too. It was just such a fun book to read while snuggled up safe in doors.
The Girl who could move Sh*t with her mind
Frost Files #1
This was really fun and read a bit like an American dramady TV series in its pacing and intrigue. I really enjoyed the Characters and the story telling and boy did it have some twists. I will hopefully have my review up soon. I would like to continue with the series once I have cleared my TBR a little more.
The Devil and the Dark Water
TWR gang group book/ audio ARC
I started reading this with the Gang in TWR and then I got granted the Audio arc about 2 weeks into the read, so finished it via audio. I really enjoyed this until the last 50 or so pages. I thought it was a really great mystery with interesting characters that just fell flat on the reveal. I will have my review up soon!
Witches of Lychford
This was a Secret Santa Gift and a re-read for me but its a series I have been wanting to continue for so long. I first read this one back in 2018 and really enjoyed it, the same could be said for my re-read I just devoured it on the 30th, giggling away to myself. I will have a mini review hopefully up soon and I intend of treating myself to book two shortly as well.
The House at the Edge of Magic
You can find my review here
The last book I read in 2020 and it was such a fun book to close the year out on. I really enjoyed it I thought It was such a whimsical read, with some really fun characters. It was some really light hearted escapism. I do wish we had got to explore the house and all its wonders just a bit more.
Kindle Hush Colection
You can read my mini review here
I picked this up as I really just wanted a quick read I could just finish in one sitting as I was in the middle of a lot of books at the time but didn’t feel like picking them up. I had read Ruth Ware before and thought it would be interesting to read her writing a more dystopian short work. I enjoyed it. I prefer Ware’s mysteries but this was a nice departure hitting very close to current political climates in the best way.
Phew! if you made it through all them you are awesome! I really did have great fun reading all of these and I am hoping my 2021 will have just as many great reads!
