I can’t Find who started the Friday Five book blog meme. It seems to crop up in many different style such as “Five for Friday”, “Five on Friday” , “FridayFive Challenge”. I also can’t find a topic list like you would have for the Six on Sunday meme. Therefore I am just doing my own thing and setting my own topics just so I can chat books with you.
Todays topic is
Five Fantasy Series I need to finish
these are five series I have started but have yet to finish. They are all completed series that I own all the books for so I have no excuse not to pick them up and tick them off the list.

Temeraire series
Naomi Novik
Number of books read 2/9
My reviews:
Book 1
I love this series it is a great combination alternative history of the Napolionic wars and sassy talking how to train your dragon style montages. I flew through book one and two and loved them (for some reason I didn’t upload a review for book 2 though, I must remedy that) but then didn’t pick up book three. I have them all I snapped up the full series in a charity shop for next to nothing. I really like Novik’s writing especially in the bond between the characters and their dragons. Book three promises a journey along the silk road from China to Istanbul which is very intriguing.

The Farseer Trilogy
Robin Hobb
Number of books read 2/3
My reviews:
Book 1
Another series where I also need to catch up with my reviews. I have read Royal Assassin and really enjoyed it, if that’s the word I can use for all the suffering of poor Fitz in these books. I really want to read the whole Realm of the Elderlings universe so I need to finish this series so I can treat myself to the next series. Hobb doesn’t go lightly on her characters and Royal assassin did leave them in a very bad situation. I will get my ass in gear and get my review up so I can add this one to my TBR, maybe the next tome topple round.

The Poppy war
R.F Kuang
Number of books read 2/3
My reviews:
Book 1
One thing we have learned is I am rubbish at actually reviewing book 2. Yes another one where I haven’t posted my review of book 2 in the series and still need to start book 3. This is another one that is on the brutal side and takes a lot of energy to get through as it really hits hard. I actually got an eARc of this one so I feel super bad that I haven’t finished it yet. Maybe if Netgalley backlist pops up in next months dice rolls. I do need to know how this series wraps up but I also have the problem

Strange the Dreamer
Laini Taylor
Number of books read 1/2
This one predates my blog so I don’t even have a review for book 1 on my blog! I think a full re-read of book one might be needed before I can continue at this point. I love Taylor’s lyrical writing and I am tempted with the re-rerelease of her Daughter of smoke and bone series to go back and read all her work again.

The Misborn Trilogy
Brandon Sanderson
Number of books read 1.5/3
My Reviews:
Book 1
I don’t know why I get up half way through book 2 but I put it down and never picked it back up again. I really enjoy Sanderson’s writing but I do find them a little drawn out at times and end up picking them up and putting them down quite frequently. I think I was in the middle lull of The Well of Ascension and I think this may be other one that goes into Tome topple to encourage me to finish off these two books in this first trilogy. I really want to tackle Sanderson’s whole Cosmere I just need to find the motivation to pick up these chunkers.
Those are just 5 of the unfinished fantasy series on my shelved. I might do sci-fi next time and then possibly series I have on my shelves that I have yet to start! I have a few of them too.
What are some fantasy series you have started but have yet to finish? Whats top of your TBR?
I would love to chat all things bookish with you! You can comment down below or find me on Twitter or Goodreads!
Happy Reading!
Great list! Mistborn book 2 took me a while to get through as well. I’m not sure what it was, but something just didn’t click for a while. But the third book made me cry so it was definitely worth the slog. I look forward to your next list! โจ

I haven’t picked up the Temeraire series yet, but I definitely need to read it! I feel the same about Mistborn, but I haven’t even made it through the first book yet. xD I always get a certain way through it and just set it aside and forget about it lol. It’s driving my hubby crazy, because he REALLY wants me to read the darn thing.
