I received an ARC copy from Rebellion Publishing in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Tee, along with her grandmother and cat, is a wannabe bounty hunter, odd-jobbing across the galaxy in her ship the Full Tilt Boogie, constantly on the lookout for the bigger, better payday. Some days, though, it’s less bounty-hunting and more baby-sitting, especially when they rescue the narcissistic Prince Ifan from Debtor’s Prison. Accidentally sparking an intergalactic war, suddenly Tee finds herself chased across the universe by sacred knights and unstoppable undead warriors. Planet conquering, prince rescuing, and ramen eating – it’s all in a day’s work for the crew of the Full Tilt Boogie!
This was a really fun Graphic novel. Currently billed as a stand alone space opera I am really hoping that it gets expanded out into a series as I would happily read more from this gang. I really loved the Tee, her dynamic with her grandmother and how easily they just built there little found family. I love a good scrappy bounty hunter just trying to make enough money for the good life and this did that with charm to spare. We got a lot of back ground and world building for such a short story and got glimpses of some fun aspects of the universe. The art is also awesome. It adds so much into the worldbuilding giving views of the universe without it having to be discussed at length. from Bear like debt collectors, grimy space ports and creepy golden cherubim we get to experience alot.
I do wish we had gotten a wee bit more story as this is billed as a standalone (currently) but I feel there is a lot more story to tell and it is left very open ended with no real resolution of all the story arcs. So I do think it needs a few more issues to tell the complete story.
It really left me with a smile on my face and I am always going to love a good quirky space cat and Cat the cat really fit into that nice perfectly.
