I can’t Find who started the Friday Five book blog meme. It seems to crop up in many different style such as “Five for Friday”, “Five on Friday” , “FridayFive Challenge”. I also can’t find a topic list like you would have for the Six on Sunday meme. Therefore I am just doing my own thing and setting my own topics just so I can chat books with you.
This weeks topic is:
Five Anticipated October Reads
I am chatting about five books that are due to be/have been released this October That I want to get my hands on!

Vespertine
Margaret Rogerson
Vespertine #1
I have adored Margaret Rogerson’s writing in the past and this one sounds like it is going to be deliciously dark. Saints, Secrets and Dark magic, evil reinvent spirits. It looks like this is also going to be a series and I have only read standalone books so far so I am excited to see where this one goes. I have to admit I have the gorgeous Fairyloot edition on pre-order.

A Spindle Splintered
Alix E. Harrow
Fractured Fairytales#1
Alix E. Harrow is one of my favourite writers recently her writing is lyrical and beautiful, her characters intense and filled with depth so when it was announced that she was doing a whole series of fairytale retellings I was in! I have this on pre-order with forbidden planet but it is currently delayed 😦

Fall of the Argosi
Sebastian De Castell
Argosi Deuology #2
I adore the Spellslinger series and my favourite character is Ferius Parfax is my favourite character so when a spin off / prequel series was announced I was extinctic and With book 2 on the horizon I really cant wait to see how her story plays out!

Haunting Season Anthology
Various
Short story Anthology
Bridget Collins, Natasha Pulley, Elizabeth Macneal and many many more gorgeous Authors I am really exciting for this one and just in time for spooky season and long nights. Apparently there is mix cosy and sinister short stories to carry us from Halloween to Christmas! I have the Waterstones special edition with the sprayed edges pre-ordered.

Spirit Engineer
A. J. West
This is paranormal historical fiction based on a true story that is supposed to be chilling. I am rea.lly looking forward to diving deep into this one it seems perfect for the spooky season with its talk of mediums and spirits and a few familiar faces such as Arthur Conan Doyle and Harry Houdini
