#Aprilathon TBR

The April Showers have hit Scotland full force so what better way to wait out the rain than to curl up with a few books and attempt yet another readathon! (O.K., O.K. It rains a lot in Scotland but my excuse still stands)

I am a little late in posting as I jumped straight into reading for both #Aprilathon and the O.W.Ls readathon, due to the holiday Monday here in the UK.

The #Aprilathon started on the 2nd and will run through to the 8th. It is a beautifully low-key readathon that is the brainchild of April at Aprilius Maximus.

The readathon has six challenges and allows you to double/triple/quadruple up on them all however you wish.

The Challenges

Read a book that you acquired recently

Read a book with a beautiful cover

Read a book you’ve been meaning to read for ages

Read a book with your favourite colour on the cover

Read a hyped book or a book that has been recommended to you

Read a book that you’re excited to read

My TBR

My TBR for #Aprilathon does overlap with my O.W.Ls TBR as I am trying not to be over ambitious and I already have 12 books on this months TBR, hopefully this readathon will help me pass a few of my O.W.Ls and start the month off well.

Kill a kingdom – Alexandra Christo
OR
Truly Devious – Maureen Johnson

I started a new job last month and therefore after over a decade of being a student (I got my BSc, MSc and finally finished my PhD in October! Yes I am still boasting about being Dr. Fi, it has been a long hard road), I am finally earning grown-up wages and of course I Treated myself to some lovely new books. These are just a couple of my haul!

Read a book with a beautiful cover

Strange the Dreamer – Laini Taylor

This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful books I own, and it is signed! to my shame I have not read it yet! Time to change that (seeing as I was supposed to read it last month – Opps)!

Read a book you’ve been meaning to read for ages

20733840

Mr Penumbra’s 24-hour Bookstore – Robin Sloan

Secret societies hidden within a mysterious bookshop, with all the techy goodness that is San Francisco – Why haven’t I read this yet!

Read a book with your favourite colour on the cover

Truly Devious – Maureen Johnson

My favourite colours are blue and purple. My copy has the most wonderful shade of purplish blue. I love it!

Read a hyped book or a book that has been recommended to you

34728667

Children of Blood and Bone – Tomi Adeyemi

I have to admit I have already started this. I got 80 pages into the digital version from the library before I just had to buy it. It is beautiful so far and I can’t wait to continue.

Read a book that you’re excited to read

All of the above could work for this category. I am so excited to finish all of these and explore the world contained in them.

Are you joining in on the #Aprilathon?

Have you read any of these books? I would love to discuss them with everyone.

Remember, I will be updating my reading on my Goodreads and chatting over on  Twitter.

    1. I would have loved to have worked it into my OWLs readathon too but I just couldn’t find a category for it that I had not assigned another must read too it. I am so looking forward to reading it through!
