It has been an amazing year filled with numerous fantastically creative readathons. So what better way to round out the year that participating in what was undoubtedly one of my favourite series of readathons – The Magical Readathons created by Gintare at Book Roast.
Though out the year we sat out O.W.Ls our N.E.W.Ts and we even did some Extra Credit! But this time we are going to have fun in the festive season in preparation for the Christmas feast. For all the details make sure to check out G’s Youtube announcement and the the awesome graphics she has created with all the prompts
My Choices of Activities and my TBR
1) Finish your coursework – finish your current read
I have been absolutely loving this so far. It is exactly what you want for the festive season. So I will be happily finishing it of as soon as the bell tolls midnight for the readathon!
2)Have a snowball fight with the Weasley twins – a book you think will be humorous
I devoured the first in the series earlier this month as part of Tis-the-season-athon and loved every minute of it. I instantly bought the second in the series it was so much fun!
3)Visit 3 Broomsticks for mulled pixie wine – a read that should only take you a day/evening
It cant be Christmas without an Agatha Christie classic to snuggle up with in the evening. I have read most of these in a day so I am sure I can finish this one to.
4) Attend a Yule Ball – book you’ve been preparing yourself for
???
I have decided to do something a little different with this prompt. I havent choose a book. instead I am participating in Jólabókaflóð. The TV programme described this as the increase in publication around the lead up to Christmas in Iceland due to high import costs making gifts expensive while books were relatively cheaper and became a popular gift to give on Christmas eve, for loved ones to snuggle up and read. My husband will be choosing a TBR book for me and I will be unwrapping it Christmas eve to sit and read all day! I am very excited. Keep track of my Twitter to find out what the book is!
5) Bring a festive treat to Hedwig at the Owlery – animal on the cover/title/series name
Again it isn’t Christmas without some Harry Potter and my version has the fabulous Buckbeak on the cover!
# Attend the Christmas Feast – watch a Harry Potter movie (optional)
I will be diving into a re-watch over my time off so I can be sure to tick this one off my list. Though I don’t know which one I will pick yet.
I can’t wait to get started! I love the community around these readathons and all the fun interactions. Are you participating? What are you reading? I am happy to talk about all of these books wither below in the comments or on my Twitter and Goodreads!
