This week it is what is the most Anticipated books of 2019. With the New Year nearly upon us its the perfect time to draw up those pre-order lists and add to the ever expanding TBR lists. This is so difficult as there are so many new releases I already have my eye on and there is probably a good few I have missed off when compiling this list. I could list multiple each month particularly for debut novels and even new series I am interesting in. Therefore, in order to narrow this down to five books I am keeping this to YA books with authors I have loved in 2018 or series I can’t wait to continue in, most of which I already have on pre-order! I am also limiting this to the first few months of 2019, as again this list would be a mile long if I looked into late 2019 releases – though Erin Morgenstren’s new release definitely top the late 2019 anticipated releases list!
So hear are my most anticipated YA, continuing series of 2019. This time I am going in order of release.
In An Absent Dream
Wayward Children #4
Seanan McGuire
Release: Jan 8th 2019
I have loved all the books in this series so far so will happily continue. This time we are diving into a logic driven world with a promise of a goblin market!
The Vanishing Stair
Truly Devious #2
Maureen Johnston
Release: Jan 22nd 2019
Truly Devious was one of my top reads in 2018 and I have been waiting to get my hands on the sequel and hopefully get some answers to all the questions the first mystery left me with.
Mist, Metal and Ash
Ink, Iron and Glass #2
Gwendolyn Clare
Release: Feb 19th 2019
I am currently reading the first in this series and it has such an unusual and creative world, with also the element of a magical school (which you know I love) that I am already keen to move onto the next one in February.
Other Words for Smoke
Sarah Maria Griffin
Release: Mar 12th 2019
OK this one breaks the rules a little. It is a stand alone but after hearing Sarah discuss it at a book event it went straight on my pre-order list. It sounds so spooky and witchey and wonderful.
Queenslyer
Spellslinger #5
Sebastian de Castell
Release: May 2nd 2019
This has to be one of my most anticipated releases of 2019 – possibly to top – I adore this series and have devoured the books in the last year. In fact I am planning on doing a read-along in anticipation of this release reading one book from the series a month in the run up to Queenslayer hitting the shelves. Look out for my announcement post and my book diaries in the New Year
What books are you eagerly awaiting? If you would like to join me on the Spellslinger read-a-long please do. As always if you want to discuss any of the books/series mentioned you can reach out to me in the comments or on Twitter/Goodreads. I would love to hear from you.
All the details about T5W and the prompts for rest of this month can be found here.
Happy Reading!
I loveeeee the Spellslinger series! Cannot wait for Queenslayer!
