This weeks Top 5 Wednesday topic is the five books at the top of your TBR pile. I have a pretty set TBR for January and in February I have to focus my time on some ARCs that I have been fortunate to receive. However, there are a good number of books on my a TBR shelf I would love to get to sooner rather than later, including a number of new releases I have on pre-order.
Two Can Keep a Secret
Karen M. McManus
I really enjoyed McManus’ debut One of us is Lying, when I read it last year, so I happily pre-ordered the beautiful teal sprayed edges version of this when it was released earlier this month. I have been hearing some awesome things about it and I am in a real mystery mood so I have bumped this up to the top of the pile.
The Vanishing Stair
Maureen Johnson
Continuing with the mysteries, the cliffhanger of Truly Devious had me reeling last year and I cant wait to dive back in to this when it is released on the 7th of February. It might make my February TBR.
The Gilded Wolves
Roshani Chokshi
I have yet to read any of Roshani Chokshi’s work which I really need to rectify. I have heard so many good reviews of this work and it just sounds so up my street that I decided to give it a go and to pre-order. It is not released in the UK until the 1st of February and I will be looking to add it to my March TBR.
In an Absent Dream
Seanan McGuire
Another February 1st release for the UK is the latest instalment in the Wayward children series. These novellas have been a consistent 4 and 5 star reads for me. This one is diving into a Logic world with talk of Goblin markets! I am hoping to snuggle up with this one Saturday soon.
The Grishaverse.
Leigh Bardugo
Ok this is not one book but a trilogy, a duology and a book of short stories! But with the announcement of the Netflix optioning and A new series launching on the 29th it is about time I read these books. I know I will enjoy them, they are very much my type of books, especially the heist factor of Six of Crows. I don’t know why I have put them off for so long. I have Shadow and Bone on my TBR this month and is the next book I am reading and I intend to move through the books over the coming months, including the new King of Scars.
I feel I have a great few months of reading ahead of me!
Are any of these on the top of your TBR pile? Have you read any of them? I am always ready to buddy read any of the books on my TBR if you would like the company and to discuss the books.
What is on the Top of your TBR?
I would love to talk all things bookish either below in the comments or on Twitter and Goodreads.
Happy reading.
I’m currently read the grishaverse and I’m on siege and storm. They are quite easy books to fly through. I find I’m reading them quickly and loving them
