February was another amazing reading month. I managed to keep the same reading level as I did in January so that makes me very happy. I have also read over 25% of my Goodreads goal within these first two months so that looks really promising for the rest of the year especially as around half of them have been books from my TBR shelves.

Book of the Month

The Last Smile in Sunder City
Luke Arnold
I really enjoyed this debut and so glad I was given an eARC to review. It was just the kind of book I enjoy, gritty noir detective, excellent world building and an interesting plot. You can read my full review HERE. It is definitely another one for the top reads list. I am also looking forward to the next int he series.

WHAT I READ –

Crooked Kingdom
Leigh Bardugo
Finally finished this series and i think this was the best on of the lot. It has a real heist feel to it, filled with excitement and double crosses keeping the reader on their toes. You can read my review for this book here.

Paris Adrift
E.J Swift
Unfortunately this was a rather disappointing ARC read for me. It has such an interesting premise and the initial set up was great but it just missed the mark for me. Again I have a full review you can read.

Sinning Silver
Naomi Novik
I Really enjoyed this. Naomi Novik has a wonderful writing style and this one reads just like an old fairy tale. My only wish was that the various POVs were delineated a bit better as occasionally it became difficult to tell them apart. I will have a review live for this shortly.

The Polar Bear Explorer’s Club
Alex Bell
This was adorable and such a fun read. So inventive that I hope I get a chance to dive into the other adventures. I have a mini review you can read here.

Locke and Key Vol 1
Joe Hill
I have been interested in this series for a while and I am glad I picked it up. It is really interesting. Not as rooted in the horror genre than i would have initially thought. However, it is still quite creepy. I really enjoyed it. I will be reviewing this shortly.

Locke and Key Vol 2
Joe Hill
The second in the series and just as creepy. This moved the story on a lot more, taking many different paths for us to learn about our characters. I will be continuing to read this series and hope to review these soon.

Heartstopper Vol 3
Alice Osman
This Graphic novel series just continues to delight. It is just wonderful and sweet as well as covering some important topics. My review can be found here.

A Shiver of Snow and Sky
Lisa Lueddecke
Another one I just really enjoyed. it has awesome world building and really lyrical writing. Another series I would really like to continue on with and also will try and review sooner rather than later.

No Time Like the Past
Jodi Taylor
Ah this series just keeps giving adventure after adventure. The pace is still furious with tonnes of mini adventures jammed into each book. I think I might hold off and review this series as a whole as there is just so much jam packed into each book.

Northern Lights
Phillip Pullman
I just had to re-read this series after watch the BBC TV series. I forgot how how emotionally invested I am in this series its the first book to make me cry in a long time. I just adore it.

And then there were none
Agatha Christie
I have read this book 5/6 times now and loved it every read. It is one of my favourite of Christie’s books. This is the first time I have read it on Audio. It was narrated by Hugh Fraser (Hastings in the Poirot TV Series) and was a very enjoyable way to experience the book.

Come Tumbing Down
Seanan McGuire
Finished this on the 29th so squeezed it in to this wrap up just in time. I really love this series. While this wasn’t my favourite it was great to wrap up Jack and Jill’s story. I will have a review up in March.

All Systems Red
Martha Wells
Another last minute febuary read. I have been wanting to dive into this series for a while and I am officially obsessed with murderbot. I am hoping I can pick up the next few soon.
