Title: Come Tumbling down
Author: Seanan McGuire
Series: Wayward Children #5
4 Stars
From Goodreads:
When Jack left Eleanor West’s School for Wayward Children she was carrying the body of her deliciously deranged sister–whom she had recently murdered in a fit of righteous justice–back to their home on the Moors.
But death in their adopted world isn’t always as permanent as it is here, and when Jack is herself carried back into the school, it becomes clear that something has happened to her. Something terrible. Something of which only the maddest of scientists could conceive. Something only her friends are equipped to help her overcome.
Eleanor West’s "No Quests" rule is about to be broken.
My Thoughts
I really adore this series. Every instalment adds so much more lore to this universe and each one is unique and wonderful. This particular one wraps up the story of Jack and Jill. We get to explore the Moors a little more seeing other aspects that were not included in our previous visiting.
Sadly the ending of this was a little disappointing. It was incredibly fast and the main point was over in less than a sentence and we didn’t get to see the majority of the interaction as it was off page. We didn’t even get to dwell on the ending and its meaning as it moved on so quickly. This was just a little disappointing as we had been building to this moment over three books.
Despite that it was still a solid part of this series and I enjoyed it.
