WWW Wednesday – 23/6/2021

Happy Wednesday!

Its that time of the Week again! WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme that was revived by Taking on a World of Words. I like it cause it is fairly simple but allows me to check in with my reading but also with you!

WWW Wednesday asks just three questions:

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

WHAT BOOK HAVE YOU RECENTLY FINISHED?

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WILL READ NEXT?

Seven Deaths of an Empire
G.R Matthews

Physical ARC

Release Date 24/6/2021

I am still working my way through this chucky one. I am really enjoying it so far. it has really rich world building, with interesting magic system, religious practices and political structure. The two different perspectives give a lot of insight into what’s going on in interesting ways. the epigraphs at the start of each chapter are also giving really fun snippets into the past. I still have quite a bit it read but hoping I will have time this weekend to really dedicate to finishing this one.

The Goblin Emperor
Katherine Addison

The Goblin Emperor #1

I received a physical ARC of book two in this series, Witness for the dead” which is due out in the UK on July 22nd. I at first mistakenly thought it was out this month so I decided to refresh myself on this world and read the Goblin Emperor. This book is a worldbuilders dream. It is extremely detailed in all the political machinations of court life, to the point where you almost forget there is a plot and just get lots in learning all the ways of this empire. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more from this world in book too. My review for The Goblin Emperor and The Witness for the Dead will but up soon.

The Box in the Woods
Maureen Johnson

Truly Devious #4

I adore the Truly Devious series and as i have been spending a lot of my time in heavy worldbuilding and detailed fantasy worlds lately I figured I needed a little breather and go on a bit of an investigate adventure. This series has always been page turners for me, with nods to some of my favourite mystery writers, and I am really in the mood for that excitement a good YA mystery can bring.

So that is my WWW post for this week. I will see you next Wednesday to update you. What are you reading this week? Have you finished anything lately you loved?

I would love to chat all things bookish with you! You can comment down below or find me on Twitter or Goodreads!

Happy Reading!
