WWW Wednesday – 8/12/21

We are a whole week into December and so far it has been an awesome reading month for me! All that time off at the beginning of the month got me back into the reading flow and I have read some amazing books so far this month! It is that time of the week again. Time to check in on what I am reading, what I have just finished and what is next to come off of the TBR shelf.

Happy Wednesday!

Its that time of the Week again! WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme that was revived by Taking on a World of Words. I like it cause it is fairly simple but allows me to check in with my reading but also with you!

WWW Wednesday asks just three questions:

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

WHAT BOOK HAVE YOU RECENTLY FINISHED?

Only a few chapters into this and the world building is awesome. Its Deco-Punk set in alternative history Chicago and its giving me slight Man in the High Castle with very advanced tech kind of vibes. The world building is very visual and stylized. The story is only just opening up so I am really interested to see where it goes.

My Review

I was so lucky to be granted access to both a physical copy and an audio copy to this one! Its was such a fun read. A great mix of magical Edwardian adventure and steamy Queer Romance! I will say it is very romance heavy and there are a number of detailed sex scenes, which if they are not your thing be warned. But despite not being a huge fan of romance forward fantasy usually, I really loved how the relationship built in this one. It felt realistic. I adored the worldbuilding, the magic system and the general adventure itself. I can’t wait to read more from this world.

The Christmas Murder Game
Alexandra Benedict

I Fancied reading another Murder Mystery and I have been seeing this all over bookish twitter and as it was only 99p on kindle I thought why not grab it and see what I think. I do love a good cosy mystery at Christmas so I am hoping I enjoy this one. I have flicked through the first few pages and it seems to have a game within the game too which might be fun to see if I can spot the clues.

So that is my WWW post for this week. I will see you next Wednesday to update you. What are you reading this week? Have you finished anything lately you loved?

I would love to chat all things bookish with you! You can comment down below or find me on Twitter or Goodreads!

Happy Reading!
