Hogmanay is the Scottish name for New Years Eve and it is traditional to clean they house, reflect on the past year and just before midnight throwing the back windows open to chase the old year out before welcoming the new in through the front door. I like to do a wrap up post to reflect on my bookish goals, the books I have read and what I have achieved with this blog, Instagram etc., to allow me to pick my 2022 goals.
The end of 2021 is nigh and it was another amazing year for reading. Another year of being part of The Write Reads Gang with amazing Blog tours and taking part as both a panellist and Team Leader in BBNYA (I am excited for the winners tours). I also built some awesome relationships with publishers that I am hoping to continue in 2022. I already have an exciting pile of 2022 ARCs that I can’t wait to share.
My Blog has grown from strength to strength with over 450 of you fantastic people following. I have also been working on my Instagram and while it hasn’t grown as much I have had so much fun taking bookish pictures and I am in awe of the attention my Bookish nail art photos have got. I love that they were shared by the likes of Karen M. McManus herself!
Nail Art is a hobby I took up during lockdown and I am really having so much fun coming up with bookish nail art Ideas that I might expand my Instagram to have more of a combination of the bookish posts and bookish nail art. I find it really zen especially if i have an audiobook on as I design and paint my nails. I might diversify a little and do a blog post or two on bookish nail creation if anyone is interested.
Reading Wrap up
NOTE: I have been cheeky and added the final book I am reading in 2021 (Where the Drowned Girls go) to this count even though I haven’t quite finished but I do have over 12 hours to finish just 100 pages which I think can be done and 150 was to nice a number not to end the year of that
(Page count includes Audiobook page numbers)
150! That is a huge number! So many books and so many of them were amazing reads. I keep looking back through the list and going ‘oh that one was amazing’, ‘that one was so good’, ‘I need to re-read that one’. Very few of my reads were disappointing. I also made great progress on some of my personal challenges. I will be doing an update and setting new goals for each of my personal challenges in the New year including my Agatha Christie Challenge and my Conquer the Classics Challenge.
