And happy 2022! Its the first Reading check in of the year and it is already off to a great start! I have a couple of books under my belt already and I am reading a couple more all of them have been awesome so far. Its my first day back in the office so I have some TBR busting audiobooks lined up as well to help me meet my goal of reducing my back list.
Its that time of the Week again! WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme that was revived by Taking on a World of Words. I like it cause it is fairly simple but allows me to check in with my reading but also with you!
WWW Wednesday asks just three questions:
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
WHAT BOOK HAVE YOU RECENTLY FINISHED?
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WILL READ NEXT?
Battle of the Linguist Mages
This is an absolute scream so far. I am loving it. The main character Isobel is utterly detestable in the best possible way. It is snarky and funny. The worldbuilding so far is amazing. So relistic feeling with just that hint of the paranormal bubbling underneath. It also has great rep, normalises correct pronoun usage etc. I am having a hard time putting it down to do other things!
The Christie Affair
Nina De Gramont
My first Full Novel of 2022 and it was a little disappointing. I loved the premise and the first half of the book which explored the disappearance of Agatha Christie was interesting, but the murder and mystery contained in this book left a lot to be desired and felt like two stories jammed together, you could have cut the Agatha Christie component out completely and it would have been the same book. Its a shame. My full review will be closer to publication.
The Twyford Code
Release date: 13/1/2022
I loved loved loved the Appeal so I am very excited to start this one. It appears to be in a similar format to The Appeal, this time as Audio transcripts, that have been digitally transcribed. I am interested to see how the plot unfolds in this one.
So that is my WWW post for this week. I will see you next Wednesday to update you. What are you reading this week? Have you finished anything lately you loved?
