Tsundoku Taming – April Wrap-up

As I said in my 2022 Bookish Goals Post I am really keen on cutting down my owned TBR. I currently have

308 Books

on my Unread shelves.

I want to reduce that as much as possible, I am aiming for at least 50% of the books I read this year to be from my owned books. I have aimed to do this through a series of Blog projects such as

and the new for 2022:

The A-Z Challenge
Friends Pick My TBR

I added 5 Books in April. That gives me a total of 313 books on my TBR shelf.

Amongst our weapons,
Adult Fairyloot sub – City of Dusk
YA Fairyloot sub – It was a double book month so I added Blood Scion and an Arrow to the Moon
Illumicrate box – Portrait of a Thief

PAGES: 5768

(Page count includes Audiobook page numbers)

Book of the Month

Amongst our Weapons
Ben Aaronovich

Rating: 5 out of 5.

My Review

I had a lot of 5 star reads in April but This was my most anticipated and it really didn’t disappoint.

Out of the 19 books I read 4 of them were ARCs. I am not going to talk about the ARCs I read this month in this post you can find all of them in my State of the ARC Wrap up including my star ratings and reviews.

The Wee Free Men
Terry Pratchett

Tiffany Aching #1

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I need to get my review for this one up soon. I really enjoyed this getting to dive into a different side of Witchcraft and Lore of the Discworld.

Cards on the Table
Agatha Christie

Hercule Poirot #15

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Christie had basically laid out this mystery in a pervious book and how Poirot would solve it, so this kind of lost a little of its excitement.

They Do it with Mirrors
Agatha Christie

Ms Marple #6

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Found this one a little obvious to guess how it was done, which was a shame.

So how are the Numbers looking?

By adding in my hauled books I was sitting at 313 Books on my TBR shelves. I have read 9 Books off those shelves this month giving me a total of

304 Books

remaining on my TBR shelves. A net of 4 books. This is the best month so far for clearing the back log but it still doesn’t seem l am shifting many books off of my TBR. I need to have a few months of just reading backlog I think.

I would love to chat all things bookish with you! You can comment down below or find me on Twitter or Goodreads!

Happy Reading!
