WWW Wednesday – 21/12/22

Yuletide Greetings.

Its Yule or the shortest day of the year here in the Northern Hemisphere which means its going to get dark early tonight. Along with having some ‘Cakes and Ale’ – read as Lebkuchen and Hot Chocolate – to celebrate I will be snuggling up in the lights from my Christmas tree to read.

However today is also Wednesday which means its that time of the Week again! WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme that was revived by Taking on a World of Words. I like it cause it is fairly simple but allows me to check in with my reading but also with you!

WWW Wednesday asks just three questions:

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

WHAT BOOK HAVE YOU RECENTLY FINISHED?

Hard Time
Jodi Taylor

Time Police #2

I am already devouring this one. It is off to a great start, as ‘Team Weird’ have to jump back to 17th century London to rescue a politician’s lost daughter that also happens to be one of the teams ex-girlfriends. Its been a laugh and a half already and I am only 70 pages in.

The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels
Janice Hallett

eARC
Release Date: 19/1/2023

I couldn’t resist starting this this morning and I am hooked already. We are back to the more mixed media format from The Appeal with WhatsApp messages, emails and personal notes. I love the concept already and think this is going to be amazing.

Murder at the Theatre Royale
Ada Moncrieff

I have been on a bit of a Christmas Mystery Binge and loving it. This was one I picked up as it was recommended as a fast paced cozy Christmas mystery and it really did deliver. I flew through it in two evenings and really enjoyed the characters and the plot. I will have a more detailed review up shortly

I suspect my current reads will take me up to Christmas eve to finish. This year I have participated in a Bookish Secret Santa, which Euan (husband) has currently hidden from me and is going to wrap and put under the tree.

I am going to join in the Icelandic tradition of Jólabókaflóðið and open one of my Secret Santa presents (I have been told there is more that one so Thank you Santa) on Christmas eve and just sit and read that. I will maybe post a little Instagram reel on what the book is.

So that is my WWW post for this week. I hope you all have a happy book filled Christmas!

I will see you next Wednesday to update you, on what I have read over the festive period and what books Santa brought me.

What are you reading this week? Have you finished anything lately you loved?

I would love to chat all things bookish with you! You can comment down below or find me on Twitter or Goodreads!

Happy Reading!
