I am back and this time its to stay!
It has been a horrible start to 2023 for me. I started really optamistically with some big goals, both bookish and personal but mid way through January that all came crashing down. I am not going to go into details but it has been a very long and very hard road these past few months and I was stuggling both physically and mentaly through out that time. I didn’t have the time or energy to do everything I needed and unfortunately that meant giving up the time I would usually spend reading and blogging.
I tried to keep up with Blogging in Feburary and March but unfortuately it was just too much for me and I had to let things settle before I could make time for blogging again. Life now seems to be back on track at least for a little while. One of the things going on with me is I am moving jobs. I have left academia and will be moving into industry in July. This means I have some extended time off to get back to the things I love doing that I had to give up at the beginning of this year. So today I am going to chat a little about what I want to get done in the next two months and how I plan to move forward after that.
Bookish goals
1) Schedule
I said this at the beginning of the year I wanted to set up a schedule and that didn’t work out. So this reset is a perfect opertunity to catch up on my reviews but also to set out a new schedule that I can stick to.
2) Bookstagram
With Jetpack no longer posting automatically to Twitter and Twitter slowly going by the wayside, I want to get more active and consistant in my Instagram content.
3) Reading from my shelves
I have been doing ok with this over the past few months and I have a lot of reviews to catch up on. I am behind on the Slay the Series Project but I have rocketed ahead on the 12 Thrillers challenge so hopefully I can balance them out soon. I also have a couple more posts from my Into Reading series which should be coming up soon.
Writing Goals
1) Finish a manuscript
I have two whole months of work and I am 100% using this time to be a full time writer. I have picked which of the several novels I have started writing that I am going to work on and finish this year. I have completely outlined and refined the plot and the first few chapters are sitting waiting for the rest to join them.
2) Set up a Writing Routine
I am aiming to ge tmyself into a writing routine, one which is flexable enough to slot around my new job when I start it, so that I can keep working on my novel. The next couple of months gives me time to experiment as to what works best for me and gets the words flowing.
3) Blog about writing
I want to keep myself accountable so I am going to add little monthly writing updates, thoughts on what is working for me and what is not. I intend on doing a bit of research over the next couple of months so I am planning some posts on that.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that still read and commented on my posts while I was away. I hope you will keep reading and that we can keep chatting books.
I would love to chat all things bookish with you! You can comment down below or find me on Twitter or Goodreads!
Happy Reading!
Welcome back. I’m glad that you’re feeling better and able to blog again
I had the email about Jetpack not posting to Twitter but my posts are still appearing automatically so I’m not sure what’s going on there
Good luck with your writing. I think making yourself accountable is a good idea to keep things moving on. I look forward to hearing about your progress
