2023 Bookish Goals

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Its cold and wet here in which is a perfect start to any readers new year. I am happily going to snuggle up with a blanket and my cats and dive deep into my 2023 TBR pile.

In the New Year I like setting myself Goals to remind me of what I would like to focus on in the coming year. I treat them more like guidelines, I don’t punish myself if I don’t meet them I just like having them to refer to when I feel a bit lost. In this post I have set Blogging Goals and Reading Goals. I will have a second post with my personal goals. That post will have my Writing, Crochet Projects, fitness and health goals. I will set the fitness and health goals in a CW in case you want to skip them.

BLOG GOALS

I recently hit 500 subscribers to my blog and I truly cannot thank you all enough. I really really appreciate the support especially as I am having so much fun with it and to see read numbers go up is just so lovely. I huge Thank you to everyone that Commented, liked and subbed in 2022!

I am hoping to hit 550 Subscribers in 2022 and to do so I have a couple of goals I want to work on.

1) Maintain my posting schedule

I had a great start to 2022 when it came to keeping up with my schedule but with trying to keep up with my writing and then contracting covid my blog sort of fell by the wayside until Blogmas. I am hoping to pick it back up, to review all the books I read even if its just mini reviews and to keep up with my standard posts such as Mini review Mondays, WWW Wednesdays and my 5 for Friday posts. I would like to throw in more Tags and Book lists too.

2) Bookstagram

My Bookstagram also grew last year but was a much slower process. My Goals remain the same as last year. I just want to find a way to successfully maintain a posting structure and to grow it.

I currently have 359 followers on my Bookstagram and I would like to hit 400 by the end of 2023.

READING GOALS

1) GOODREADS GOAL 2023

In 2022 I read 108 books! You can read my full wrap up in my 2022 Wrap up post or if you are only interested in what my top rated books were you can find my Top 22 Books of 2022 Here.

Again due to contracting covid My reading took a big hit and I didn’t read as much as I have in previous years. I still beat my Goodreads goal of 100 books. I hit 80 books all the way back in August but it took till the middle of December for me to finally hit the 100, as I barely read anything in the second half of the year. Therefore, I think I am going to keep my goal at 100 books for the year. I now know I can comfortably reach that goal I have surpassed it a few years in a row now, but also that it gives me enough to work towards. So I think it is a good number for me to aim towards. This is just under 2 books a week.

2) FOCUS ON READING BOOKS I OWN

I haven’t yet done an inventory of all the unread books on my shelf at the start of 2023 but I will do that over the next few days so I can make an update to my

TAMING MY TSUNDOKU CHALLENGE

I have always been one to enjoy Reading Challenges and Readathons. I will definitely be joining in some readathons throughout the year as they always help me tackle the back list, such as Beat the Backlist.

I will also be continuing some of my own personal reading Challenges including:

TERRY PRATCHETT PROJECT
AGATHA CHRISTIE MYSTERIES

I will be updating my progress in these over the next few days so look out for those blog posts shortly. I have also decided to add a couple more into the mix to help me clear my TBR shelves. In the next couple of days I will be launching the following Challenges :

SLAY THE SERIES
12 THRILLERS

3) START USING STORYGRAPH

I have had a story graph account for ages but I have never really utilised it. So this year I want to properly set it up. Inventory all my owned books on it and then use it to help get my Tsundoku pile down. I am hoping to set up challenge pages for my personal challenges I have listed above to make it easier to keep track of etc.

4) MAKE TIME FOR READING

I have so many personal and professional goals this year that I know a lot of my time is going to be occupied with various other things. So making time to sit and read is very important and a promise I have to make to myself to make sure there is always space for a good book.

So those are my goals and reading challenges I am setting myself for 2023. Now I am off to do some reading!!!

I would love to chat all things bookish with you! You can comment down below or find me on Twitter or Goodreads!

Very Happy New year to you and Happy Reading!
