Mini Review – Rogue Protocol

Title: Rogue Protocol

Author: Martha Wells

Series: Murderbot Diaries #3

4 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5.

From Goodreads:

SciFi’s favorite antisocial A.I. is again on a mission. The case against the too-big-to-fail GrayCris Corporation is floundering, and more importantly, authorities are beginning to ask more questions about where Dr. Mensah’s SecUnit is.

And Murderbot would rather those questions went away. For good.

My Thoughts

I have made it pretty clear how much I am loving this series. While this book has not been my favourite so far it is no less entertaining. Without spoilers this one was interesting as we got to observe both how Murderbot functions when acting under its SecUnit protocols, yet under its own guidance and how the other half lives meeting Mika an A.I that is loved and treasured and treated as a friend by its owner. We had great action scenes, lots of sassy banter and inner monologue and such a bittersweet ending.

If you haven’t started the Murderbot series yet I really think you should. They are such character driven series and it is so interesting to explore through Murderbot’s eyes. Murderbot is just such a fantastic multifacieted character and I can’t wait to see where their adventures take them next.

Happy Reading!

  1. I think your thoughts about this pretty much sum up my own! This is as far as I’ve read in the series so far, but the second book was definitely my favorite, and while I enjoyed this one, it felt a little bit like a step back from the second book. I can’t wait to continue on with book four, though! Glad you’re enjoying it so far. 😀
