Its another Tag Tuesday. And I dug out an oldy but a goodie for this one. This one that originated with Girl reading back in 2015. I just thought the questions were fun.
The Questions
1) A FICTIONAL FAMILY YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPEND CHRISTMAS DINNER WITH?

The Pages Family
Pages and Co
Anna James
I would love to spend Christmas with the Pages family in the Pages and Co. It just seems like it would seem so much fun and be really magical. Helping customers pick out the perfect bookish Christmas presents until the shop closes on Christmas eve, then snuggling up with a book on a cozy corner with hot chocolate and ooey gooey brownies from the cafe and doing a bit of book wondering in somewhere lovely and snowy, maybe joining the The Pevensies for the Christmas feast in Narnia. Perfect thing about the Page’s family and their book wandering is you can visit all your other favourites too.
2) A BOOKISH ITEM YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE AS A GIFT?
Honestly this is a difficult one as I have quite a lot of bookish items. I love a good book mark or bookish themed Jewellery. Basically anything bookish or books will always be welcome. I will never say no to a bookish themed gift.
3) A FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU THINK WOULD MAKE A PERFECT CHRISTMAS ELF?

Magnus, Merle and Takko
The Adventure Zone
The McElroy Family
They might blow up something, crash through buildings etc. but they Tres Horny Bois (as they are known in the podcast) will get the job done. They do actually have there own Christmas style festival called Candle-nights and they do get very festive so I do think that they would being a lot of cheer and a good bit of mischief to it all.

4) MATCH A BOOK TO IT’S PERFECT CHRISTMAS SONG.

Murderbot Diaries
Martha Wells
matched with A Spaceman Came Traveling by Chris de Burgh
Ok I had a bit of fun with this one. A Spaceman came travelling it the most ridiculous and weird Christmas song ever (honestly if you don’t know it look it up on Youtube) But it does fit perfectly with the Murderbot diaries which is a series that centres around a cyborg trying to find himself traveling through space to find answers. I really love this series and I am hoping Santa might bring me the next one.
Here are my reviews for Book 1, Book 2 and Book 3
5) BAH HUMBUG. A BOOK OR FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU’VE BEEN DISAPPOINTED IN AND SHOULD BE PUT ON THE NAUGHTY LIST?

The Angel of the Crows
Katherine Addison
While this isn’t my worst read of the year it is really my most disappointing read. This had such an interesting premise and potential but instead of spiralling off into the amazing world building it just kinda ended up almost word for word re-write of a couple of Sherlock Holmes stories with some paranormal elements thrown at it. It was just so so disappointing.

6) A BOOK OR A FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU THINK DESERVES MORE LOVE AND APPRECIATION AND DESERVE TO BE PUT ON THE NICE LIST?

The Whole Crew
The Ship of Shadows
Maria Kuzniar
The Ship of Shadows #1
If anyone should find themselves on the Nice list it should be the whole crew of the Ship of Shadows. This was one of my favourite books of the summer this year, it was such a fun read filled with girl power, but seems to have fallen off the radar a little now that we are coming up on Christmas so I think it needs a bit of love again!

7) RED, GOLD AND GREEN. A BOOK COVER THAT HAS A WONDERFULLY CHRISTMASY FEEL TO IT.

Midwinter Murder
Agatha Christie
Short Story collection
I recently just finished this short story collection and while I had previous read the Ms Marple and Hercule Poirot stories it contained lots of stories I had not encountered before which made it such an interesting read. All of them are set around winter and christmas and the cover has that snow winter feel.
I have a mini review of it here.
8) A BOOK OR SERIES YOU LOVE SO MUCH, YOU WANT EVERYONE TO FIND UNDER THEIR CHRISTMAS TREE THIS YEAR SO THEY CAN READ IT AND LOVE IT TOO?

The Space Between Worlds
Micaiah Johnson
I have not seen this book been talked about as much as it deserves. I know that Sci-Fi isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but this is such a character driven story with some awesome dystopian elements that I think it would be a great intro to the genre for people. i really enjoyed it and I really do think it deserves more hype and chatter.
I have a full review for this book which can be found here
