I stared a new series TBR series in 2022, one is my State of the ARC posts. I will do two posts a month; a State of the ARC TBR post and a State of the ARC Wrap up post.
These State of the ARC posts are to keep me accountable on all the ARCs I am so privileged to receive. I want to get that Netgalley rating back up to the coveted 80% as well as tell you all about some of the amazing books that are coming out each month.
This is my first Wrap up of the year so its aim is to see if I read and reviewed the books on my list, how many new ARCs I received and if I managed to bump up that Netgalley percentage in any way.
On the 1st of Jan 2022 my Netgalley percentage was 54%

At the End of the Month my Netgalley Percentage is:
55 %
I read and reviewed :
6 Books
I was accepted to read:
10 New ARCs
That is a net of -4! Which means I am not going to clear the 80% any time quickly if I keep requesting more than I read. But a good number of these 10 are my most anticipated reads of the year so I couldn’t help myself. With 4 more books either close to being finished or that I will finish quickly one I pick them up I am sure to break even soon.

This is just gorgeous. The writing is just beautiful. When I come across such an immersive world I tend to slow my reading down to catch all the details. This means that due to the vast number of books all out in January I prioritized the faster paced reads to tick them off the list and this one has ended up only being read a couple of chapters at a time. I am hoping to just sit one weekend and finish it maybe when my book box version arrives so I can treasure the time.

Seven Mercies
Elizabeth May and Laura Lam
eARC
Release Date: 20/1/2022
I loved the first book in the series and I am really enjoying this one. The only gripe I have is the same i had for the first one is a few of the perspectives blend together a little and there are just a few too many perspectives which is what causes me to put it down, as the fact paced plot and 6 perspectives just make it an intense read that I need to take more time over.

These Deadly Games
Diana Urban
eARC
Release Date: 1/2/2022
This is out the first of February so this is my primary focus for just now. I am currently about 15% of the way through and I am really liking where it is going. Hoping to finish it this weekend so I can review it on release date (we can but hope).

How High we go in the dark
Sequoia Nagamatsu
eARC
Release Date: 18/1/2022
I don’t Know why I didn’t pick this one up, it think i just wasn’t in the mood for it. It still seems like a really fascinating book its just others on my TBR attracted me more at the time. I am sure to get to this soon as February is relatively quiet month for ARCS.

The Write Reads Ultimate Blog Tour
My Tour Date: 7/2/2022
Release Date: 30/1/2021
This was more a hoping to get to it over a need to read it. I am part of the blog tour on the 7th of February so I suspect it will be the first book I pick up in February and as it is a middle grade it should be a relatively short read and I will be able to tick it off my TBR.
So that Is my ARC wrap up for January. I will have a Wrap up of my Backlog clearing, Tsundoku Taming and Friend Picks my TBR up tomorrow!
I would love to chat all things bookish with you! You can comment down below or find me on Twitter or Goodreads!
Happy Reading!
Good Luck on clearing your backlog. It is so difficult to resist requesting new books though. Sadly I wasn’t approved for A Fatal Crossing so now I’ve got it on order from the library 😃

I have a goal of reaching a 100% ratio on NetGalley this year for even a brief moment in time. At the beginning of the month I was doing really well, reading lots of ARCs and reviewing them. But then I got a bit ahead of myself, and ended up with 6 new titles added to my pile! Which means that instead of my ratio going up this month, it went down!
Best of luck getting your ratio up to 80%! I understand just how difficult it can be, but it seems like you’re on top of all your releases, so that should help! I hope you’re able to see more progress next month! Maybe the fact that February is a shorter month will help us both have more restraint when it comes to requesting new ARCs!
