As I said in my 2022 Bookish Goals Post I am really keen on cutting down my owned TBR. I currently have
308 Books
on my Unread shelves.
I want to reduce that as much as possible, I am aiming for at least 50% of the books I read this year to be from my owned books. I have aimed to do this through a series of Blog projects such as
CONQUER THE CLASSICS
AGATHA CHRISTIE MYSTERIES
and the new for 2022:
TERRY PRATCHETT PROJECT
The A-Z Challenge
Friends Pick My TBR
BOOKS HAULED
I added 4 Books in Feb. That gives me a total of 312 books on my TBR shelf.
You can read all about the books I hauled this month in my February Book Haul post

Book of the Month

Mickey7
Edward Ashton

This book has a great style to the main characters voice, some great dark humour and a really great plot. It is what good space opera should be it makes you think while also keeping you entertained

WHAT I READ –
Out of the 14 books I read 6 of them were ARCs. I am not going to talk about the ARCs I read this month in this post you can find all of them in my State of the ARC Wrap up including my star ratings and reviews.
TERRY PRATCHETT PROJECT

Reaper Man
Terry Pratchett
Not My favourite. Which is a shame as I love Death and this was the introduction of Death of Rats Which is just cuteness personified but the plot just didn’t grab me and the jokes just didn’t have me laughing as much as other books in the series.
My review for this will be live shortly.
AGATHA CHRISTIE MYSTERIES

Death on the Nile
Agatha Chrsitie
Hercule Poirot #18
This was a re-read and I appreciated what Christie was doing with this one so much more this time around. There are so many twists and turns and red herrings it is really and exciting read.
Here is My Review
FRIENDS PICK MY TBR

Ink and Bone
Rachel Caine
The Great Library #1
Chosen By Kerri from Kerri McBookNerd
I have no idea what took me so long to read this one. I had started it before but never finished it and I am so glad I did. I really liked this book and its worldbuilding. I can’t wait to continue the series.
I will have my review for this live shortly.
A-Z READS

Among Thieves
M. J Kuhn
Choice for A
This was a fun and fast paced read, I really loved the world building it was so detailed, i really wish we got to explore it more. I also loved how slowburn the romance was. One thing I do wish is that it leant into the heist plot tropes a bit more so we could get more of the heist novel feel.
OTHER READS

Monday Monday
Ben Aaronovitch
Rivers of London #8
Re-read as part of the Folly buddy read. I really love this instalment of Peter’s story. I love the real forward momentum it has in terms of our understanding of magic, the expansion of the Folly’s investigative team and how it deals with magic based crime. I love how much tech played a role in this mystery and all the hitchhikers references!

Undercover Princess
Connie Glynn
The Rosewood Chronicles #1
eARC
Blog Tour
As part of the Blog Tour for A Princess Ever After, Book 5 in the Rosewood Chronicles I was invited to read Book 1 too. This was such a cute read. Closer to Middle grade than YA in writing style it had a great plot that was easy to get into and fun to follow.
You can find out more of my thoughts in My Review, My thoughts on Book 5 will be live on the 4th March.
While I didn’t manage to catch up on my A-Z Challenge books before this post went live but I am reading Black Sun now and really enjoying it. I am about 35% of the way through so a few more days of reading. I didn’t make time for Queen of the Tearling yet again (Sorry Dave) and I still have Raybearer to read (Sorry Kerri). I also didn’t read anything from my Conquer the Classics Book list so I will be carrying both the remaining A-Z Challenge and the unread Friend picks my TBR books on to Next months TBR to make sure I read them.
I still have to review a couple of the books listed here but they are scheduled very soon. For those I have reviewed you can either find the links above or in my State of the ARC wrap up.
So how are the Numbers looking?
By adding in my hauled books I was sitting at 312 Books on my TBR shelves. I have read 8 Books off those shelves this month giving me a total of
308 Books
remaining on my TBR shelves. A net of 0 books, oh no. It seems I am just going round and round adding as many books as I read. March has a lot of ARCs but I will have to be sure to focus more on my shelves in April which has a lot fewer ARCs. to try and clear my shelves a bit. Especially as since writing my Book Haul post 3 new books have shown up, but they go into March’s count!
I would love to chat all things bookish with you! You can comment down below or find me on Twitter or Goodreads!
Happy Reading!
It seems we are all determined to make 2022 the year to get our TBR under control. Lol. I wish you better luck than I am having.
